Bought a pair of thermo 6 boots, wore them twice in snow.
During the 2nd outing, I noticed my feet getting colder and
wet. Upon inspection, the outer waterproof shell was not
very well sealed. Also I found the boots to be not very
comfortable, a little awkward to walk in. I have several
pair and never had a problem before which was the reason for
buying these in the first place, but needless to say I was
disappointed. Went out and bought a pair of Keen Growlers -
infinitely better . Nlw the thermo 6's just sit gathering
I got these for Christmas but I have been eyeing them for
months in hope that Santa would bring them. I live in
Upstate NY and with the snow rain and ice that is the
weather here. So far they perform just as expected. Whether
I am out shoveling, hiking, playing in the snow, or working.
I will and have recommended this brand for the past few
years since I discovered Merrell. My next purchase will be a
gortex boot for hiking / Kayaking at the Thousand Islands.
My favorite pair of boots ever. Warm, weatherproof and
comfortable right out of the box. I've worn them for well
over a year throughout two winters and was extremely happy
with them. However, last week I noticed a small 1/2 inch
split on top of the toe area above the ball of the foot,
right at the flex point. I guess i could be disappointed in
the boot, but I'm happy with the boot and more disappointed
that they may not last a whole lot longer. I guess 2 years
is a long time for a boot that sees the absolute worst
conditions, overall very happy with the Thermo 6!
