Just bought these for my next big hike. 40miles across isle royal.. lots of wet and soggy up and down terrain. so I will update after that trip in June. so far i have had these for a week and have worn them every day. they get very uncomfortable on the sides of my feet due to the sturdy rubber strap on the sides and being very narrow boot.. i've tried several insoles to resolve this and it doesn't help. it seems to be lessing so I'm hoping its just waiting to be broke in. So far they are great except for that. lets hope its not a problem.

I usually use trail runners for day hikes and light backpacking. I bought these for more serious backpacking trips or muddy/snowy hikes in the fall and spring. I wanted a snug fit and after trying on a few pair in the store, i bought the 8.5 US size. That is very small for me -- usually I wear a 9.5 in other brands. Although it took a few hikes to break them in (longer than normal) I am now quite happy with them. They are comfortable, dry, durable (from what I can tell so far), sturdy-- a great backpacking boot that I hope will last me many years

I have the previous generation of this boot and now have well over 200 miles on them. I use them for cold weather backpacking and snowshoeing. They've performed every bit as good as my Chameleons on dirt & rock, bouldering and climbing. The mid sole isn't quite as rigid as the Chameleon's but I don't notice that except when traversing talus slopes. I can't say the sole design is an improvement over others for traction in snow. I seem to slip and slide in wet snow just as much as my other boots. So far they've been very water proof, even standing in four inch puddles. If you suffer cold feet these probably won't keep your toes toasty but they definitely won't freeze like they do in non-insulated boots. I'm most impressed by how comfortable they are hiking long miles on varied terrain.
