Customer Opinions

I bought and returned 3 pair of hiking boots before finally deciding to spend a little extra $ on the Solomon's. I'm not typically a suscriber of "you get what you pay for". My last pair of hiking boots were middle of the pack Merrel's and they served me dry and pain free for 18 years. There was no sole left but they were so comfortable I just never wanted to get rid of them. The Merrel's began to leak last fall and I've been on the hunt for a comparable replacement. The Solomon's....WOW, these boots feel like slippers. I'm very susceptible to ankle swelling and pain depending on how a boot rolls from heel to toe. My last 3 pair were comfortable to wear, but were not so comfortable after a few miles. I've had these for a few weeks now and have done a few 9 mile hikes without even thinking about my feet. These are the best things since sliced bread.

Quick note about them: They have proven to have the best customer service I have come across. I actually got these boots as replacements for a pair of Merrell shoes I purchased, but those ended up not working out for my foot. The impressive part is I bought those shoes at a different store and I had used them for a few runs before finding out that they didn't mold to my foot well and Merrell still took care of me. Now on to the boots. These boots are perfect for me and I love them. I bought them for winter time work like shoveling and playing in the snow (I'm still a kid at heart). They keep my feet warm and dry, the lace up nice and secure, and there is a small ring near the toe of the boot that allows them to connect to my snow pants which helps a lot when running through deep snow. Another benefit I found was that because of their styling, I felt comfortable using them as a casual boot and even wearing them to work with a pair of khakis when the weather is bad. Couldn't be happier with them.

I bought these boots as a Christmas gift to myself. I love them....I do chemical applications on commercial/residential properties and I am walking several miles a day and putting these boots thru the rigors of all kinds of terrain and they are around lawn chemicals.....they are great. Now, a question to them.....can you wash these boots and if so, what do you recommend? I want to make sure I do it the right way.
